Stoke City

Stoke City - Information
STOKE City is the second oldest club in the Football League after being founded in 1863.
Nicknamed 'The Potters' in recognition of Stoke-on-Trent's pottery industry, Stoke have returned to the top flight after an absence of 23 years after winning promotion last season.
The club's biggest honour to date is the League Cup, which it won in 1972.

Over the years the Potters have boasted some of the best players the country has ever known, including Sir Stanley Matthews, Gordon Banks and Peter Shilton.

A full history of the club can be viewed in this section of the website. Profiles of the current squad are available to view elsewhere on the site.
