STOKE City manager Tony Pulis has this morning dismissed reports of an approach to offer Fulham midfielder Danny Murphy a player-coach role at the Britannia Stadium.

“There is nothing in it,” Pulis asserted.

“Like a lot of stories involving us at the moment, there is nothing in it.”

Murphy played all 38 league games for Fulham last season, but could now be surplus to requirements as Fulham boss
Roy Hodgson continues chasing West Brom midfielder Jonathan Greening.

Murphy is known to favour a move into coaching eventually and Stoke are still seeking an assistant manager to replace Dave Kemp following his move to America as a full-time scout.

If Murphy comes then so does Joanna Taylor

Please, please, please sign him, then we'll be able to see lovely Joanna Taylor in wags wing.
