POTTERS duo Glen Whelan and Liam Lawrence will face France after Ireland drew the former world champions in the World Cup play-offs.

The draw for the final eliminators will be played on a home-and-away basis on 14 and 18 November.

Both Whelan and Lawrence will be expected to start in both encounters. Ireland qualified for the play-offs after last minute heart break against Italy denied them the chance of qualifying automatically.

Meanwhile Portugal will play Bosnia-Hercegovina, Greece face Ukraine and Russia come up against Slovenia.
